Position Overview:
The Personal Injury Attorney will be responsible for handling complex personal injury cases from intake to resolution, with a strong emphasis on trial work. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 first-chair trials under their belt, as well as extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including depositions, motions practice, discovery, and negotiating settlements. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage personal injury cases from start to finish, including first-chair responsibility in trials.
- Conduct thorough case investigation and discovery, including depositions, witness preparation, and expert consultations.
- Draft and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents in preparation for trial.
- Represent clients in court, including motions hearings, status conferences, and trial.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, mediators, and insurance companies.
- Advise clients on legal options and strategies, providing clear and effective communication throughout the case.
- Maintain a high level of case organization and meet all court deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff to efficiently handle cases and provide superior client service.
- Stay current on developments in personal injury law and litigation strategies to ensure best practices.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 first-chair trials completed in personal injury cases.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of personal injury litigation, including case management, discovery, depositions, motions, and trials.
- Proven ability to effectively manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and demonstrate exceptional courtroom presence.
- Strong negotiation and settlement skills, with a proven track record of favorable outcomes.
- Empathy and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, many of whom may be going through challenging times.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Admission to the Arizona Bar and in good standing.
- Admission to California Bar is a big plus
- Bilingual is a plus
